Gentle Reader, I broke 40K, FINALLY, on this sequel! As my novels are Rather Long, this does not mean much. I still have roughly 100K to go. But still! Milestone!
Any milestones lately in your writing, Friends?

Wow, congratulations! That’s quite a milestone. I haven’t hit any in my current project yet. Just out of curiosity, how do you determine what your target word count is? Are you entering it into a competition or submitting it to a publisher with 140k words requirement? Or is it a personal goal? (I’m asking because I haven’t even thought about what my total word count should be. Only that I want it to be more than 85k. I’ve heard that’s an average sized novel.)
My target word count is based on my first novel, which is around 160K. I tend to write longer books for fantasy. This is the sequel, so I’m shooting for about the same length.
Ah, I see. That’s awesome. Good luck!
