Well, 2016 is already off to an auspicious start. I was woken up at 3:30 a.m. by the sounds of water. Our septic pump in the basement has broken, and now, we need a very expensive plumbing fix. Welcome New Year to us!
But we’ll soldier through. We’re lucky: we have two bathrooms (one functional as of now), our health, and our dogs’ health. I keep telling myself these things to keep the anger and anxiety at bay!
Or, as the anecdote goes, “Other than the play, Mrs. Lincoln, how was your night?”
Sigh.

My basement flooded yesterday too! Luckily for me only with a burst water heater. No hot water, but the radiators are working and we have cold water for the toilet/tooth brushing/super quick wash ups. 🙂 Best of luck to you in sorting out the mess in your basement! *hugs*
