Gentle Reader, about two weeks ago, I returned from a 10-day trip to Alaska with my DH. We had a marvelous time on Oceania Cruises, visiting the following ports: Ketchikan, Skagway, Wrangell, Juneau, Sitka, and Victoria. Alaska is stunningly beautiful; I’ve never seen its like outside of Scotland (our Dream Home). I’m not sure I could live in the smaller towns in Alaska, as charming as they were, but Juneau, I could do.
We saw glaciers, and whales, and sea lions, and otters (at the Seattle Aquarium). We went on a harbor cruise in Seattle (during which my new theme picture was taken), a whale cruise in Juneau, an afternoon tea in Victoria, and a petroglyph beach in Wrangell. In short, we vacationed hard, and came home to teach summer classes without any break from VACATION to REAL LIFE.
It’s been an adjustment, Gentle Reader, to move from our first vacay in 11 years–yes! 11 years!–to getting back to the Swing of Things. But we’re doing amiably, all things considered. We’re teaching and cleaning and resuming our space in our home.
I have plans for a longer post, or several, about my trip to Alaska, but I felt I should catch up first and explain where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing. But expect further details, and pictures!, soon.
xoxo
