Week Three

No fun picture today, Gentle Reader, as it’s Rather Early and I’m still a bit sleepy.  But I did want to check in on my Week Three progress, which is going along swimmingly.

I have written every day on MARVEL.  I don’t work from outlines or plans.  Rather, as my dear friend Sunny says, I let the story tell itself.  So far, so good.  I’m at a Crucial Scene right now (which I will get back to once I finish my coffee) and it’s gone someplace unexpected.  I’m pleased with it, and hope you, future Readers, will be pleased one day as well.

Of course, this means a lot of back writing.  That is to say, going back through the MS and putting in clues as to how we got here, because honestly, it just happened yesterday and I had no clue it would happen!  But that’s okay; that’s what revision is for!

As for academic writing, I’ve turned in a long-suffering project to a journal, and fingers crossed that it breathes life.  It was a revise and resubmit, but so many things got in the way it’s been a long time since the journal has seen it last.

But also, I had a Bad Mental Health day Friday.  Partly due to worry, but also, I tend to get this way when I turn in a project.  The fear of putting myself out there is a bit daunting, and I needed some time just with the dogs, in my safe space.

All’s well that end’s well, I suppose.  More soon.  Now, to writing!
