London second day

It was a rather disappointing start to our day, gentle reader, because we went to the British museum with the sole purpose of seeing the Elgin marbles and they were closed. Closed!!! So we regrouped, my students did their assignments, and we went to lunch and a bookstore before we went to poet’s corner in Westminster.

I bought this gorgeous 1901 edition at a wonderful little bookshop.

And then we got to Westminster and poet’s corner was roped off!!! I went to talk to someone and he took us through all the closed areas and lo and behold there we were. To see my beloveds.

After some harrowing exploits we made it to our train with five minutes to spare!

Now I’m on a train back to London to go to the museum of London and the Tate Britain. More soon!!
