What are you currently reading, Gentle Reader?
After graduate school spoiled me for reading only one book at a time (for the rest of my LIFE, Friends. The rest of my LIFE), I find myself always in the middle of three books at once. Currently, they are as follows:
Cold Days – Jim Butcher
Guardian of the Dead – Karen Healey
City of Fallen Angels – Cassandra Clare
I also am in the middle of teaching Geography III by Elizabeth Bishop as well as the Romantic Poets (huzzah!) to two of my classes, so there is lots of poetry currently in my life!
Share your reads, please!

currently reading: Ulysses for my Joyce/Walcott class; Elaine Dundy’s _The Dud Avocado_ for my students’ book club;
on deck: Aysan Sev’er’s _Mothers, Daughters and Untamed Dragons for my Monstrous Mothers of Lit class;
on my nightstand and not allowed to read yet: Maggie Barbieri’s _Extra Credit_ and Juliet Dark’s _The Water Witch_ BOTH FOR FUN 🙂
Ooohh… monstrous mothers of lit. That sounds AMAZING!
I LOVE teaching it! This time around, it’s cross-listed with Africana Studies and fulfills an Anglophone (non-British/non-American) requirement for English majors, which made selecting texts a fun challenge 😉
Have you read Connie Willis’s The Water Witch?
No, I haven’t — I’ll have to add it to my list. Sounds like it might be a good companion to Butler’s The Parable of the Sower (yes, I checked it out on Amazon).
